What is Counseling?

Counseling is a collaboration between counselor and client. You and your counselor will identify challenges in your life and create solutions to help move your life in a positive direction. Amani Insights helps lay the groundwork for individuals and couples to strengthen their self-esteem, build better communication, and promote positive behavior change. 

Are my sessions confidential? 

As a client, you are guaranteed the protection of confidentiality within the boundaries of the client/counselor relationship. The only limitations to confidentiality occur when clients are considered either a threat to themselves or someone else, or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be disclosed. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our confidentiality policy.

Do you take my insurance?

Amani Insights is considered an Out of Network Provider, and we do not bill directly with any insurance companies. At your request, your counselor can provide you with a coded receipt, (Superbill) if you would like to pursue reimbursement from your insurance company. Amani Insights does accept HSA/FSA cards as payment for services.

Can you prescribe or refill medications? 

LPC's are unable to prescribe medications. Your counselor may recommend that you get an evaluation from a psychiatrist or other medical provider if you are struggling with certain symptoms that medication could help alleviate in conjunction with your therapy sessions. Amani Insights is happy to refer you to the proper professionals for these services--if deemed appropriate for your care.

How much are counseling sessions? 

Each individual or couples counseling session costs $150.  For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Double sessions (100 minutes) are available for $300.

How do I prepare for my initial session?

You have already taken one of the hardest steps by booking your appointment. Your counselor will send you a secure link for you to log in, so all you need is a stable WIFI connection! Please make sure you are in a safe and private space for your session--this can be anywhere--one of the benefits of telehealth! 

What is your cancelation policy? 

Amani Insights has a 24-hour cancelation policy for all appointments. If you do not provide 24 hours notice when canceling your session, you will be charged your FULL session fee.  Notice can be provided via email, phone, or text.
